Aaraachaar (The hangman)
Based on K.R. Meera’s novel Aaraachaar, the drama unravels the eventful life of Chetana Grudha Mallik, a hangwoman, after she agrees to undertake the first execution and the momentous days till she hangs the convict. The play unfolds the story of Chetana’s life, tradition, love, turmoils etc, just like the novel depicts it. Aaraachaar stands out in terms of storytelling and technological experiments on stage, which accords the audience a novel visual experience.
